Ewan Henderson made his full debut for Celtic on Sunday.

Celtic fans on Twitter are absolutely raving about Ewan Henderson.

The Lennoxtown graduate made his full debut for the Hoops in Sunday’s 4-1 win over Motherwell at Parkhead.

It was a shock decision by Brendan Rodgers to name him in the first XI, but Henderson justified that call with a superb display.

The 18-year-old looked mature beyond his years in midfield and played a wonderful cross for Odsonne Edouard’s first goal.

Henderson, the younger brother of former Celtic midfielder Liam, certainly looks a top prospect and here’s how fans of the Scottish giants reacted to his display.

It was indeed a fine full debut and, with Ryan Christie going off injured yesterday, it seems possible that Henderson could stay in midfield, if his team-mate is out for a while.

But Rodgers must keep him grounded. Plenty of academy players have enjoyed a brilliant first game and then disappeared completely, so it’s important that the Bhoys boss manages him correctly.

Hopefully this is just the beginning for him, not the beginning of the end, like it has been for a lot of players down the years.
