Ewan Henderson was superb as Celtic stormed to an emphatic win to extend their lead in the Scottish Premiership.

Liam Henderson has taken to Twitter and suggested that it is madness after his brother Ewan Henderson marked his first start for Celtic by putting in a man of the match display in Sunday’s 4-1 win against Motherwell.

Brendan Rodgers’s side went back to being eight points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership as they stormed to an emphatic win in a controversial fixture.

Scott Sinclair and Odsonne Edouard both scored in the 15 minutes before half-time to put the Hoops 2-0 up. Edouard’s goal came from a superb cross from Henderson, who had previously made two substitute appearances for the club in the league before Rodgers included him in the starting lineup against Well.

The controversy came when the visitors decided to not give the ball back to Celtic following an injury for Ryan Christie. They went on to score from the attack, leaving Celtic’s players and fans, understandably, absolutely furious.

But the Hoops would ensure that their opponents did not benefit from the goal as Edouard scored again with a stunning free-kick, before Oliver Burke completed the rout in stoppage-time.

For Henderson, it was a fantastic occasion as he unquestionably showed that he could have a future as a key man within Celtic’s side. Fans would certainly be forgiven for thinking that he was the best player on the pitch.

And following the announcement that he was man of the match, brother and former Celtic prospect Liam Henderson lauded the 18-year-old on social media, and it was not difficult to see how happy he was to see the teenager receive the plaudits…
