Just as sure as the fact that Tottenham Hotspur are in pole position for the quarter-finals of the Champions League is the fact that a tie isn't over until the final whistle blows in the second leg, as Paris Saint-Germain fans know all too well.

Spurs lead Borussia Dortmund 3-0 thanks to a superb display at Wembley in their last-16 first leg last week, but there is still a lot of work to do for the return leg on March 5, not least because the opposition will certainly make sure all bases are covered in terms of how to spring a comeback.

That said, Tottenham may just have been handed a huge Champions League boost from Germany in the shape of the Bundesliga's bottom side, FC Nurnberg, whose recent game against Lucien Favre's side could potentially go on to have great repercussions on their season.

On Monday, the Bavarians held Dortmund to a goalless draw at the Grundig Stadion, a game which was disrupted by tennis balls thrown on the pitch in protest at the German football league's decision to play games on Monday night.

As for the actual football action, it was a game which the visitors utterly dominated - more than 72 percent possession, 17 shots, six of which were on target, 12 corners and so on - except on the scoresheet.

The solitary point picked up by the league leaders means Bayern Munich are now just two points behind them, their nine-point gap from the end of January now effectively evaporated to the point that one game now can see the top two change places.

All of a sudden, the pressure is on them not to completely capitulate to their rivals, which could well impact on their players' mentality and confidence, as well as the possibility of players and tactics being chopped and changed in a bid to focus on the league.

Put simply, Nurnberg have potentially caused havoc within the Dortmund ranks thanks to their unlikely point and the impact on their title hopes, and Spurs should look to take full advantage.
