Leeds United goalkeeper Will Huffer has spent the last month on loan at Barnet.

Barnet and Will Huffer have both tweeted after the goalkeeper made his final appearance for the club before he makes his return to Leeds, while several of the National League side’s fans have also sent messages to the Whites youngster.

Huffer – who made his senior debut for Marcelo Bielsa’s side earlier in the campaign, keeping a clean sheet in a win against Bristol City – joined the Bees on a one-month loan during the latter stages of the January transfer window.

The 20-year-old made five appearances for Barnet in all competitions, making his debut in the 3-3 draw with Brentford in the FA Cup. His last game for the club came on Tuesday night as he kept a clean sheet in a stalemate with Sutton United in the National League. The Yorkshire Evening Post reports that he has been recalled following an injury to Kamil Miazek at Elland Road.

And ahead of his return to Leeds, Barnet paid tribute to the youngster on Twitter. And Huffer responded to the message by suggesting that he loved every minute of his time at the Hive.

Unfortunately, Huffer is facing an incredibly difficult task trying to get into Leeds’s side anytime soon. Kiko Casilla joined from Real Madrid in January, and Bailey Peacock-Farrell now has to be considered one of the best understudies in the Championship.

Under-23 football and perhaps another loan spell further down the line surely await Huffer. And judging by how some of the Barnet fans have reacted to his departure, it would appear that many would love to see him return in the future.
