Neves signed a scholarship deal at Everton as recently as last summer.

The young Everton forward, Pedro Neves, appears to have left to Toffees for Reading.

Neves moved to Everton from Charlton at the age of 15 and signed a full-time scholarship deal as recently as last summer.

But the Brazil-born player – who has represented both the country of his birth and Portugal at youth level – posted a video of himself in Reading colours on Instagram this morning, alongside the caption: “New house”.

Both Everton and Reading have yet to comment on Neves’s situation, although that is not uncommon with youth team transfers.

Speaking to Globo Esporte following his 2017 move, Neves said it was a dream to play for a big club such as Everton, “which has great players like (Romelu) Lukaku and (Kevin) Mirallas”.

Reading recently hired the Portuguese, Jose Manuel Gomes, as manager, and currently employ the Seleção striker, Nelson Oliveira, albeit on a temporary basis.

Would Neves be a big loss for Everton?
