A versatile player who can feature in a variety of positions, Buckley is arguably the brightest young talent at Ewood Park right now.
He has been a regular for the club’s U23 side this season and is now on the verge of Tony Mowbray’s first-team, although he is yet to make his senior debut for the 1995 Premier League champions.
But, with just 12 months left on his current deal at Ewood Park, TEAMtalk claims that Blackburn are desperate to tie Buckley down to a new contract amid interest from North West rivals Liverpool and Everton.
Manchester United, who caused a stir in Lancashire when they snapped up a teenage Phil Jones in 2011, have also been keeping an eye on a player who has been at Blackburn since he was just six.
If Buckley was interested in a move to the top flight, however, Everton or Liverpool could be the perfect environment for a talented young player looking to get his career of the ground.
