Tottenham Hotspur reportedly wanted Aleksandar Mitrovic in January.

According to a new report from TEAMtalk, Tottenham Hotspur failed with a move for Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic on transfer deadline day.
It’s claimed that Spurs offered to give Fulham the £27million they spent on Mitrovic to land the forward, but the Cottagers said no.
The report also notes that Tottenham are likely to try again for Mitrovic in the summer if Fulham suffer relegation from the Premier League this season.
That may well be the case, and landing the Serbian would be a huge move for Spurs – even if something of a gamble.
Yes, Mitrovic flattered to deceive at Newcastle. His temperament let him down, and he struggled to convince Rafael Benitez, leading to his 2018 move to Fulham.
However, Mitrovic has grown up and rounded out his game at Fulham. His temperament has improved, he seems a more mature player and has added more to his game that simple brute force.

Mitrovic has not only smashed 10 goals in 26 Premier League games in a desperately poor Fulham side, but has also created 25 chances this season; more than Harry Kane and Marko Arnautovic, the same as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mesut Ozil, and just three shy of Sadio Mane.
He’s superb in the air and improving as an all-round forward, making him the perfect striker to come in and compete with Harry Kane, whilst 24 he has his best years ahead of him too.
Some may worry about signing the Newcastle version of Mitrovic, but he has come a long way in the last year both as a person and as a player, and he could be game-changing signing for Spurs this summer, offering a young, more well-rounded version of target man Fernando Llorente to help break down stubborn defences.
