The North Norfolk Digital radio presenter is going to be back on the Beeb and tackling the #metoo movement.

A new Alan Partridge series is due this month, with the first episode hitting UK screens on 25 February. Here’s what we know so far about ‘This time with Alan Partridge’.

Career lifeline – The presenter of the fictional ‘This Time’ magazine show on the BBC has fallen ill and they’ve drafted in the former ‘Knowing me, knowing you’ presenter to fill his shoes, meaning Alan has a shot at the Beeb for the first time in years.

Tackling the big issues – In the series, Alan will discuss big issues such as #metoo – where he’s obviously hapless – and Brexit – where he’s obviously hard.

Classic format – The series is a six-parter, in fairly standard practice for British sitcoms these days. The first episode comes out on 25 February and it will run weekly. Steve Coogan will obviously play Alan, while usual suspects Rob and Neil Gibbons have been involved in its creation. Felicity Montagu is returning as downtrodden PA Lynn while Alan’s co-host on ‘This time’, Jennie Gresham, will be played by Black Mirror actress Susannah Fielding.

The rest – There is a trailer that shows Alan anxiously asking for some water before going on air as his mouth is dry while being ignored. We also know that Armando Iannucci sat in on some of the meetings for the show.
