Nottingham Forest were reportedly keen to bring French defender Falette to the Championship from Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen.

Nottingham Forest were reportedly interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt defender Simon Falette during the January transfer window, according to Kicker.
A talented 26-year-old centre-back, Falette is an old-school defender renowned for his combative style and strength in the air. And it seemed that Forest saw him as a potential replacement for Michael Dawson or Michael Hefele, who have struggled with injuries in recent weeks.
By the time the transfer window slammed shut two weeks ago, however, Forest had sealed the signings of Molla Wague and Alexander Milosevic instead. Falette, meanwhile, was still in Frankfurt.
And it seems that his inability to find a route out of the Bundesliga has now consigned him to life on the substitute’s bench – at least until the summer.

The former Metz powerhouse has never been a regular for high-flying Frankfurt, making just five Bundesliga appearances all season under the former BSC Young Boys coach Adi Hutter.
And it is telling that Falette has been left out of Frankfurt’s starting XI for both of their league matches in February.
Whether first-team football at Forest would have been easier to come by is up for debate but it is hard to argue against the fact that leaving Frankfurt probably would have been for the best.
