Preston beat the Canaries 3-1 at Deepdale to edge closer to the top half of the table and also knocked Daniel Farke's side off the top in place of Leeds.
The Lilywhites were impressive from the off and got off the mark after just 90 seconds, Ben Davies heading home Paul Gallagher’s free kick to instantly put Daniel Farke's charges on the back foot.
By the half-time mark it certainly looked like it was going to be Preston's day as Gallagher then scored a penalty after Darnell Fisher had been upended, before Declan Rudd saved Marco Stiepermann’s penalty.
Although Norwich stepped up a gear in the second half, they couldn't find a goal and were then caught when Sean Maguire added a third for his side on 69 minutes, a comprehensive scoreline only tempered by Teemu Pukki's 21st league goal of the season in injury time.
The result in Lancashire, combined with Leeds' 2-1 win over Swansea City, meant not only that Preston are now just one point behind the 12th-placed Swans and closing in on the top half, but that the top two changed places again.
Here is how some Preston fans reacted on Twitter to their victory over the Canaries:
Imagine if these players had been signed in the summer. That’s all I asked for. #pnefc— PNEAKTE (@PNEAKTE) February 13, 2019
