The Whites defender put in an impressive display, complete with a goal, in Wednesday's Championship win.
Leeds United returned to the top of the Championship table with a 2-1 win over Swansea City on Wednesday night, combined with Norwich City's 3-1 loss at Preston North End.
Pontus Jansson marked his 28th birthday with the opening goal at Elland Road, reacting first to Ezgjan Alioski's blocked shot to rifle home on the rebound from 12 yards out on 20 minutes.
Alioski was involved again for the hosts' second goal, his cross finding Jack Harrison, who headed past Erwin Mulder at his near post not long after the Swans goalkeeper had kept out his powerful drive.
Swansea made it a tense finish for the Whites faithful as Luke Ayling's foul on Joel Asoro in the box yielded a penalty which Oliver McBurnie slotted away in the 87th minute, but Marcelo Bielsa's side hung on.
After the game, StatZone posted a Twitter message with some eye-opening information on Jansson's display, showing he had made more tackles than anyone else during the game and more than 100 touches of the ball - and of course his goal:
