Leeds United were beaten 1-0 in their latest under-23 fixture after a superb run of form.
Leeds travelled to Sheffield Wednesday looking to extend their lead at the top of the division after a superb start to 2019 that included four wins and one draw. However, Carlos Corberan's men were beaten 1-0 by the Owls.
Players such as Izzy Brown and Aapo Halme, who would have been hoping to impress Marcelo Bielsa ahead of the first-team's Championship clash with Swansea City tonight, featured against Wednesday. But they were unable to help liven up a fairly drab affair.
It was a day when little seemed to go right for the league leaders. Brown appeared to pick up a slight knock heading into the break. It would appear that the problem may not be too serious. It was always unlikely that he was going to feature for more than 45 minutes anyway with a place on the bench against the Swans awaiting the attacking midfielder.
But given how Brown's season has played out, there is likely to be a little apprehension amongst the Elland Road faithful in the hours before the teamsheet is announced.
While Brown will be focused on the Swansea clash, Diaz took to Twitter to suggest that his attention is now on Friday's under-23 clash with Notts County after the disappointment of Tuesday's fixture.
Here is Diaz's tweet following the game...
