Tottenham Hotspur striker Fernando Llorente has stepped up in Harry Kane's absence.

He was much derided even before he scored an own goal against Fulham in his first game deputising for the England international.

Since then he has become a reliable contributor.

 

In his last five games, Llorente has scored two goals and provided three assists.

His link up with Heung-Min Son has been crucial to the team's success in their recent appearances.

Llorente sent a message yesterday ahead of tonight's tie. 

The responses to Llorente's tweet highlighted the high regard in which he is currently held.

The 33-year-old needs one last push tonight against Dortmund, with Harry Kane expected to return soon after.
