Avengers: Endgame draws ever closer, so here’s what we know about the most anticipated film of the year.
There was a quaint little production last year that unfortunately many skipped out on; as you can tell, this was not Avengers: Infinity War. How can one begin to communicate the sheer success of the MCU’s monumental achievement? The culmination of a decade of high-octane blockbuster cinema. Although the third in the trilogy, there were still some sceptics who struggled to comprehend how they’d pull it all off. It was being sold as the most ambitious project of the studio's career, and it was.
It delivered on expectations and more, with so many fans arguing that it transcended the limitations of blockbuster cinema. Although packed with characters, all miraculously felt of equal importance - making for captivating viewing throughout the entire runtime. Now, we’re in for an even lengthier time with Avengers: Endgame.
The Russo brothers stated quite a while ago that the cut they were working with rolled in at three hours, and even more recently they confirmed that this was still the case. At this length, Avengers: Endgame will be the longest MCU offering to date, and you’d better believe fans will still be clamouring for an extended cut. Infinity War left us feeling defeated; now, we have three hours to watch them defeat the mighty Thanos, or perhaps perish trying. The universe has been forever changed by the complex actions of the mad titan, but the upcoming film will see the Avengers assemble once again to try and reverse his grave actions.
Brie Larson’s superhero is also set to make an important addition to the team, after her showcase in Captain Marvel on March 8, 2019. So, when does Avengers: Endgame release in cinemas? Fortunately, it’s not long after the former. US audiences will get to see it on April 26, but UK audiences will be glad to know it’s coming a day early on April 25. If you’re counting down the days, this new costume reveal may tide you over for a while:

It’s good to see them and it’s getting us incredibly excited for April. Avengers: Endgame is set to round off the Thanos narrative, of which has been sewn into standalone films for a long time now. It’s the twenty-second MCU film and judging from preconceptions, it’s expected to be the very best. Considering the previous film’s shocking finale, we’re keeping our hearts heavy and our eyes wide open when Endgame finally hits cinemas.
