Nintendo fans are understandably excited about today’s Direct as the 35-minute event should contain a lot of information pertaining to new games and already revealed announcements. While Square Enix’s enthusiasm for the event has the most optimistic of fans praying for Kingdom Hearts 3 to be announced for Switch, a more realistic expectation is for the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate community to finally see gameplay involving Atlus and Persona 5’s Joker.

Announced as a DLC combatant for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate back at Geoff Keighley’s Game Awards, Nintendo Direct seems like an ideal time for gameplay and a release date to be revealed for Persona 5’s Joker. With the rest of the Phantom Thieves rumoured to be coming to the Switch also, perhaps the event will shock us all by confirming the rumours about Persona 5 R being available in the future on both the Switch and PlayStation 4.
Still, with Persona 5 R looking more unlikely for the Switch with every passing day, the most fans should probably expect is snippets of gameplay that showcase Joker’s moveset and versatility in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
In other Atlus news, the identity of Catherine: Full Body’s Rin has been revealed, and – as you should probably expect – it’s completely bonkers.
