Liverpool are allegedly keen on signing the Ajax youngster.
Liverpool have performed several scouting missions on Ajax starlet Matthijs de Ligt over the past six months or so, but they might be put off a move for the Dutchman due to his ties with controversial agent Mino Raiola, according to a report from the Mirror.
The 19-year-old is a real star in the making, and he could be available for around £50 million in the summer, according to the Mirror.
The Reds spent around £75 million on Virgil Van Dijk in January 2018, but with Joe Gomez experiencing concerning injury problems, Jürgen Klopp will undoubtedly be on the look-out for another world class centre-back.
And De Ligt would be just the ticket.
The Mirror suggests, however, that in spite of Liverpool’s interest in the defender, they have been put off the idea of making a move for him due to his ties with super agent Mino Raiola.
The British tabloid claims that English club’s are wary of the Monaco-based agent, because of his history of being incredibly awkward to deal with.
De Ligt really is an incredible talent, however, and Liverpool surely must make a move for him at all costs in the summer, especially given he fact that he will reportedly be available for just £50 million.
