The Rangers duo are totally different types of striker.
Rangers ace Scott Arfield spoke exclusively to the Daily Record, and praised the qualities of Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe, whilst highlighting the big difference in how the duo operate.
Morelos, 23, joined Rangers from HJK Helsinki in the summer of 2017, and he has gone on to score 41 goals for the Glasgow giants.
Defoe, meanwhile, joined the Gers in January on an 18 month loan deal, and he has already bagged three goals in five outings.
Rangers currently sit in second spot in the Scottish Premiership table, six points adrift of league leaders Celtic, and the two strikers will be vitally important to their hopes of winning their first top flight title since 2011.
Arfield spoke exclusively to the Daily Record, and shared how both Morelos and Defoe have wonderfully contrasting playing styles:
“He [Morelos] is a big asset, in terms of scoring goals and bullying players for us. We have Jermain Defoe who can pop up anywhere. Obviously they are different types of players. You would say Alfredo is more dominant in terms of leaning on centre-halves and trying to bully them but Jermain is as cool as you like in front of goal."
Morelos has had his disciplinary problems this season, so bringing someone like Defoe in will surely turn out to be an excellent piece of business from Steven Gerrard.
Next up for Rangers is a home game against St Johnstone on Saturday, and nothing less than a win will do for Gerrard's men.
