Newcastle failed to hold onto a 1-0 lead at Molineux on Monday night.

Newcastle United failed to hold onto a narrow lead at Molineux on Wednesday night as Wolverhampton Wanderers equalised in the 94th minute to draw 1-1 – but some Newcastle fans have chosen to criticise DeAndre Yedlin.
The Toon went in front through midfielder Isaac Hayden, who was played through by Fabian Schar and his rather tame shot was inexplicably palmed into his own goal by Wolves stopper Rui Patricio.
Newcastle looked comfortable with a back three of Schar, Jamaal Lascelles and Florian Lejeune looking solid. Sean Longstaff once again impressed sitting in front of the defence. Miguel Almiron made his debut from the bench.
But it was Wolves defender Willy Boly who finally broke Newcastle’s rearguard, beating Martin Dubravka to head into Newcastle’s net to the dismay of manager Rafa Benitez.
The point does alleviate some pressure on Newcastle, who climb into 16th place in the Premier League. But a 1-0 win would have taken them into 15th, three points above the relegation zone.

But there were certainly plenty of positives for Newcastle despite the late goal, but fans believe a negative was USA international Yedlin’s display as a right wing-back.
Monday night was Yedlin’s 90th Newcastle appearances since the 25-year-old moved top St. James’ Park for £5million in the summer of 2016 (Chronicle), but Toon fans were not impressed.
