Ledley King has compared the 'tremendous' Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Oliver Skipp to former Premier League winner Scott Parker.

The 18-year-old ace has been pushed into first-team action in recent months and he started his side's 3-1 win over Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday.

During his career, Parker played for the likes of Spurs, West Ham, Fulham as well as lifting the Premier League title with Chelsea in 2005, according to transfermarkt.

Nonetheless, former Spurs defender King shared what he thought of Skipp when he saw him for the first time and explained what his best attributes on the ball are.

"He is a tremendous young player," King told Sky Sports PL on 10/02/2019. "The first time I saw him was in preseason against Barcelona. He played really well that day. I was really impressed.

"The manager is a big fan of his. For someone so young, he has got great maturity. He got composure on the ball. He likes a tackle as well. He reminds be a little of Scott Parker. He is one for the future, that's for sure."

Skipp has played 10 games in all competitions for Mauricio Pochettino's side this season, including starting two FA Cup encounters last month, according to transfermarkt.

He is yet to play any minutes in the Champions League so it will be interesting to see if Pochettino throws him into the European stage on Wednesday night.

Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund will take on Spurs at Wembley in the first leg of their knockout encounter, with a number of star players set to be on show.

Added with the likes of Heung-min Son and Christian Eriksen looking to prove their worth for the London club, the German side will have highly-rated England international Jadon Sancho causing problems on the flanks.
