Tottenham Hotspur beat Leicester City on Sunday afternoon.

Tottenham Hotspur racked up another win on Sunday afternoon, beating Leicester City 3-1 at Wembley Stadium.

Spurs took the lead when Kieran Trippier cut his corner back to Christian Eriksen, with the Dane’s cross headed home by Davinson Sanchez.

Leicester were handed a penalty when James Maddison went down under a challenge from Jan Vertonghen, but substitute Jamie Vardy – with his first touch – had his spot kick saved by Hugo Lloris.

Just moments later, Eriksen got himself on the scoresheet, firing home from long range after a smart pass from Fernando Llorente, only for Vardy to make amends with a close-range finish.

Spurs weren’t to be denied, and added gloss to their win as Son Heung-min ran from his own half to score past Kasper Schmeichel and seal a well-earned win.

In what was an impressive Spurs win, Leicester ace Maddison was under the microscope after The Times reported that Mauricio Pochettino and co are keen to sign him if Eriksen moves on this summer.

The 22-year-old racked up seven key passes in a creative showing, but he went down easily for the penalty, and Spurs fans were far from impressed with his perceived ‘dive’ to win the spot kick.

Others simply believe that Maddison isn’t good enough to replace Eriksen just yet, and whilst some still think he’s a decent player, his showing on Sunday did little to convince fans that he should be a top target this summer.
