The loaned-out Rangers midfielder, Jamie Barjonas, has sent a message to Kieran Wright on Twitter, after the Ibrox goalkeeper's penalty save on Monday.

Wright kept out Blair Alston's late spot-kick for St Johnstone to secure a draw for Rangers' second string.

Jamie McKenzie had given the hosts the lead at McDairmid Park, before Glenn Middleton equalised for Rangers - continuing his recent purple patch at reserve level.

And Barjonas was quick to congratulate Wright, his long-term Rangers colleague, writing: "Go on ginge sannn".

Barjonas is due to spend the rest of the season at Raith Rovers, the club from which Wright returned to Rangers at the start of last month after a temporary spell of his own.

Wright is one of several talented young goalkeepers currently on Rangers' books, alongside Robby McCrorie, Aidan McAdams and Andy Firth.

First team players, Matt Polster, Glen Kamara and Lassana Coulibaly all started for Rangers at St Johnstone.

Lassana Coulibaly of Rangers is seen during the Pre-Season Friendly match between Rangers and Wigan Athletic at Ibrox Stadium on July 29, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.
