Brazil, who is the Academy Manager of Forest, has expressed his pride at Yates making his full league debut for the Reds at the weekend.
The 21-year-old midfielder was in action for Martin O'Neill's side during their Championship match against Brentford at the City Ground in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
The youngster started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, and Brazil is pleased to see an academy graduate turn out for the first team.
Couldn’t be more proud of Ryan Yates. Full league debut for NFFC today in front of a full house. The Academy has to develop players with character and a desire to be the best they can be everyday. Ryan is a great example to every young player on their journey— Gary Brazil (@GazBraz) February 9, 2019
Against Brentford on Saturday afternoon, Yates had a pass accuracy of 61.9%, won one header, and made one tackle, two interceptions and two clearances, according to WhoScored.
It will take time for Yates to establish himself in the Forest starting lineup, but the midfielder could well get some valuable playing time in the coming weeks and months.
Forest are ninth in the Championship table at the moment with 45 points from 31 matches, five points behind sixth-placed Bristol City.
