A horror-tinged “Aquaman” spin-off is in the works


There’s no Jason Momoa, but The Trench promises something a little different for fans.

Having taken over $1 billion USD and become DC’s most successful movie to date, it’s perhaps no surprise that Warner Bros. have taken on the task of putting together an Aquaman spin-off.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Trench — focusing on the inhabitants of The Trench, which featured in the 2018 Jason Momoa-starring movie — Warner have taken on Noah Gardner and Aidan Fitzgerald to write a “horror-tinged” script.

Neither Momoa nor Aquaman director James Wan are currently slated to return to their previous roles for the spin-off, Peter Safran will join Wan produce the project — on a much smaller budget than its blockbusting predecessor.
