The games you can expect at Sega Fes 2019

Persona 5 Ren 2

Persona 5 R, Catherine: Full Body, and Shenmue 3 are some of the games you might see at Sega Fes 2019.

Sega has confirmed that Sega Fes 2019 will take place March 30-31 at the Belle Salle complex in Akihabara, Japan, with free entry for the public. Although a host of Sega’s developers are expected to be at the event, only Atlus have officially been confirmed on the festival’s official website. Some of the games fans might see are Persona 5 R, Catherine: Full Body, and Shenmue 3

Persona 5 R has been confirmed for the PlayStation 4, with Atlus teasing more news in March. This means Sega Fes 2019 is almost definitely where Atlus will confirm what Persona 5 R actually is, and whether it’s coming to the Nintendo Switch and PC as the rumours suggest. Atlus hosted special stage shows for Persona 3: Dancing In Moonlight, Persona 5: Dancing In Starlight, and Persona 5 The Animation at Sega Fes 2018, so hopefully they’ll have a stage dedicated to Persona 5 R to reveal some gameplay and a release date.

In addition to Persona 5 R, Atlus could also confirm the western release date for Catherine: Full Body. While we know Vincent’s sexual dilemma isn’t coming to the PS Vita, and that it will boast ridiculously easy new features, as well as the option to play as Catherine, Katherine, Rin, Erica, and Persona 5’s Joker, we don’t know anything about a western release except that it’s scheduled for 2019. With Atlus having recently released a new trailer that confirmed the release dates for Korea and China, you’d imagine an announcement for the west is right around the corner.

Away from Atlus, fans might also see more of Shenmue 3. With the developers having confirmed the recommended system requirements for the PC version, as well as teased that the third instalment will be double the length of previous games, there could potentially be gameplay shown at Sega Fes 2019 to build up more hype before it launches 27 August. Although Sega aren't publishing Shenmue 3, they did allow Yu Suzuki to use the licensing rights and resources, so a showing is slim but still possible.

Other possible showings include Streets Of Rage 4 and the Panzer Dragoon Saga remakes that are in development.

Sega Fes 2019 takes place March 30-31 at the Belle Salle complex in Akihabara Japan, with free entry. If you’re excited about Persona 5 R, then you’ll also be interested to know there’s an amazing Phan game you can download for free, and that you can now pre-order Funko’s Phantom Thieves Pop! Figures. Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth has also been confirmed for the Nintendo 3DS, but – unfortunately – it already seems like a lazy and disappointing port.
