"Game of Thrones" prequel gets an update

Game of Thrones: Night King

More information has surfaced regarding the upcoming Game of Thrones spin-off prequel.

The HBO screen adaptation of George R.R. Martin's fantasy novel series Game of Thrones has gradually risen to become the most grandiose television series of the twenty-first century. Fans are eagerly anticipating the arrival of season eight, which is reportedly comprised of six episodes and is expected to be with us on April 14, 2019.

Excitement for the forthcoming season couldn't be higher. Yet, there is more Game of Thrones viewing to look forward to beyond season eight, of which is set to conclude the series.

A prequel spin-off series is currently in development, which will take place long before the events that we have familiarised ourselves with; we'd be wise to expect allusions to what we have learnt. We now have an update on when the project will begin to take full shape. According to Entertainment Weekly, the pilot episode is set to shoot this Summer. Details are being kept under wraps, but it's likely much more news will emerge once season eight has finished airing. The untitled prequel will star the likes of Naomi Watts and more - already expectations are high.
