Umar Sadiq failed to score a goal or produce an assist during a dreadful spell at Scottish Premiership challengers Rangers.

Umar Sadiq’s short-lived spell at Rangers could go down in history for all the wrong reasons.
The highly-rated Nigerian striker arrived at Ibrox last summer on a season-long loan deal from Italian giants Roma. But to say he failed to live up to expectations would be a glorious understatement.
Sadiq made just five appearances for Steven Gerrard’s side and failed to register a single goal or an assist. In fact, two yellow cards was all he managed for the Glasgow giants.
So it was little surprise when Rangers decided to cut their ties with the 21-year-old after just a few months in Scottish football. By the time the January transfer window opened, Sadiq had returned to Italy with his tail between his legs.
Though at least Sadiq is doing a little better at his new club, Perugia.

The rangy centre-forward dropped down to Serie B last month with Roma once again deciding to loan him out. And Sadiq has already produced more than he did in a number of ill-fated months in Scotland, producing an assist in Perugia’s 3-0 win away at Ascoli at the weekend.
Whether he can build on this, his finest performance of the season, remains to be seen.
