Sky Sports pundit Liam Rosenior has claimed that Leeds midfielder Adam Forshaw made ‘massive mistakes’ against Norwich and he ‘could have done more’ during his side’s 3-1 defeat [BBC Sport].

The 27-year-old played the full match at Elland Road over the weekend and was involved in two of the goals conceded by his team.

After the match, former Hull City and Brighton player Rosenior explained why Forshaw would have been disappointed with those goals conceded, particularly Norwich’s second.

“[The freekick goal] takes a little deflection off Forshaw, who possibly could do more in terms of blocking the shot,” Rosenior told Sky Sports Football on 02/02/2019.

“Forshaw loses possession to begin with [for the second goal] and he makes a second massive mistake by getting in too deep. He is actually playing Pukki onside.”

Mario Vrancic opened the scoring after five minutes when his free-kick deflected off Forshaw, who tried his utmost best to block the effort from going on target.

Norwich City's Mario Vrancic scores the opening goal during the Sky Bet Championship between Leeds United and Norwich City at Elland Road on February 2, 2019 in Leeds, England.

Then 10 minutes before half-time, Teemu Pukki doubled his side’s lead when Forshaw lost possession deep in his own half, which ended up being costly.

The former Middlesbrough player, along with his teammates, tried to drop back to defend the situation but he ended up dropping too deep, and as a result, he kept Puuki onside, who was free to slot home from close-range.

Over the course of the season, Forshaw has been a regular member of Marcelo Bielsa’s midfield, playing 23 league games, according to transfermarkt.

As a result of that defeat at the weekend, Leeds lost top spot to Norwich, with third-placed Sheffield United three points behind them in the table.
