Alex Mowatt is renowned for his long-range shooting ability and has continued the trend at Barnsley this season with some fine efforts - and Leeds United fans have reacted to his latest goal, from all of 40 yards.

Mowatt, 23, left Leeds in January 2017 to join Barnsley and he struggled to begin with at Oakwell. He was loaned out to Oxford United for the second half of the 2017-18 campaign.

Returning to Barnsley last summer, Mowatt has since been first choice and the Leeds academy product has shown just how important he can be - scoring five goals and creating eight more this season.

Indeed, his sensational strike against Scunthorpe United on Saturday gave Barnsley the lead in a 2-0 win, as he picked up a loose ball from 40 yards and sent a deceiving effort past Jak Alwnick. Here is a video of the goal below:

Coming through the Leeds academy, Mowatt made his debut for the Whites at the age of 18 years old during a 3-1 Carabao Cup win over Doncaster Rovers in August 2013. He went on to play 125 times for Leeds in all competitions.

Leeds fans reacted on Twitter after watching Mowatt find the back of the net from way out, and many applauded the midfielder while some want Marcelo Bielsa to lure the left-footed star back to Elland Road.
