Aston Villa are reportedly keen on Swansea City defender Mike van der Hoorn.

According to The Sun, Aston Villa are interested in a deal for Swansea City defender Mike van der Hoorn – but could sign him for free this summer.
Villa struck one deal with Swansea on deadline day, taking midfielder Tom Carroll on loan after a move for teammate Leroy Fer fell through.
Carroll will hope to earn a permanent move, but Villa also appear to have their sights set on another Swansea player for the summer transfer window.
The Sun report that Villa want to bring in Swans centre back Van der Hoorn, and could sign him for free given that his contract expires this summer.
That’s a particular bargain for Villa given that they allegedly wanted the Dutchman just days ago, but Swansea told them to pay a staggering £10million.
Villa unsurprisingly didn’t accept those demands, and could now swoop to sign Van der Hoorn when his contract comes to an end, which would no doubt infuriate Swansea.

Van der Hoorn, 26, joined Swansea from Ajax in 2016, and is now vice-captain of the club under Graham Potter, starring this season in the Swansea back four.
Not only is Van der Hoorn physically dominant at 6ft 3in tall, but he has also shown he can play out from the back, and he would be an incredible bargain if Villa can land him for nothing this summer.
