It's the end of an era for America's sweetheart Tom Hanks.
Toy Story was released in 1995, giving birth to Pixar Studios and a range of wonderful characters. Over the two subsequent sequels, the gang have become family to most - familiar faces forever capable of putting a smile on ours. Fans thought that 2010's Toy Story 3 would be the end of the line. It certainly felt like it.
Despite audiences declaring the trilogy concluded, it was announced some time ago that a fourth instalment was headed our way. The date has drawn ever closer, and now we can firmly say that Toy Story 4 will release this year. It's so close! Tom Hanks has just taken to Twitter to bid the project a fond farewell:
The popular actor and animated cowboy are finally hanging up Woody's hat; as he says, he truly has taken the character "to infinity and beyond". An animation teaser was also released last week, teasing the return of Bo Peep.
Although we've been through this before, it looks like this may finally be it. Toy Story 4 looks set to conclude the film series once and for all. It's going to be an emotional journey for the ages when the adventure drops on June 21, 2019.
