Some Everton fans have questioned Marco Silva’s decision to move Beni Baningime out on loan to Wigan Athletic.

Everton managed to keep hold of both James McCarthy and Idrissa Gueye yesterday, meaning Silva still has plenty of options in central midfield.

With Baningime already struggling for game time at Goodison Park, the youngster’s chances at Everton looked set to be limited for the rest of the season.

And Everton decided that a temporary switch to Wigan would benefit the 20-year-old.

Supporters of the Toffees have been left slightly bemused by the decision though, as they feel he has plenty to offer their first-team.

Baningime has not made a senior appearance for Everton this term, although he did catch the eye last campaign when offered a chance.

Baningime could make his Wigan debut at the weekend when the Latics take on Queens Park Rangers.
