Despite what an Australian Classification rating suggested, Atlus are not bring Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth to the Nintendo Switch.
Atlus recently uploaded a trailer for Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth, as well announced a western release date and collector’s edition. While it’s of course great that we’re getting more Persona, along with a collector’s edition that includes the most adorable Koromaru plushie, it’s slightly disappointing that it’s not also coming to the Nintendo Switch.
A couple weeks ago, we reported about an Australian Classification rating that still says Persona Q2 is “Multi Platform”. This resulted in us and others speculating/hopting that New Cinema Labyrinth would be available on the 3DS and Switch in the west. Unfortunately, the only apparent truth from the Australian Classification rating was that Persona Q2 was being released in the west.
Although Persona Q2 and its predecessor were designed for the 3DS, a port to the Switch would’ve given New Cinema Labyrinth the opportunity to be a bigger success. Still, while unfortunate, at least there’s more Persona for us to enjoy so long as we find and dust off our 3DS.
Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth launches June 4 in the west for Nintendo 3DS. It’s a crossover between Persona 5, 4, and 3, with a ton of fanservice between a ton of dungeon-crawling.
In other Persona news, Atlus and Sega have announced that the Phantom Thieves are collaborating with another game, and fans will get to play as Joker in Catherine: Full Body and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Atlus are also confirmed for Sega Fes 2019 in March, which is where they’ll most likely reveal what Persona 5 R is and when it’s coming out.
