The Canaries have announced a “ground-breaking transatlantic yellow and green partnership” with the Tampa Bay Rowdies.

Norwich City have announced a “ground-breaking” partnership with American association football outfit Tampa Bay Rowdies.
On Wednesday, the Canaries issued a statement which confirmed a long-term deal between themselves and their USL Championship counterparts which is set to yield mutually beneficial opportunities.
As well as joint merchandising opportunities, the deal will reportedly see promising players from the English Championship club’s academy given the opportunities to play on loan with the Florida club.
Back in November last year, Norwich held a warm weather training camp in Florida, with the Rowdies’ Al Lang Stadium playing host to training sessions as well as meetings between coaches from both clubs.
The Canaries also have a sponsorship partnership with Visit Tampa Bay, the Florida region’s tourist development agency, as noted by the East Anglian club’s statement confirming the partnership.
Some Norwich fans took to Twitter after the announcement between the two yellow-and-green clubs to express their views:
Norwich are second in the Championship and very much in the hunt for the title and a place in next season’s Premier League campaign.
The Tampa Bay Rowdies, meanwhile, are preparing for the start of the 2019 USL Championship Eastern Conference season.
