Aston Villa supporters on Twitter have expressed their surprise that Premier League side Cardiff City have signed their former player Leandro Bacuna.

The Bluebirds confirmed on their official website on deadline day that they have signed the 27-year-old from Reading on a four-and-a-half-year deal.

Cardiff’s decision to sign Bacuna has perplexed Villa supporters on social media, who simply cannot believe he has managed to get a move to the Premier League.

Bacuna left Villa during the summer of 2018 to join fellow Championship side Reading, with the Royals narrowly avoiding relegation to the second tier of English football last season.

Nonetheless, many Villa fans on Twitter simply couldn’t believe their eyes in regards to the Bacuna transfer, with one supporter stating that he must have ‘the best agent’.

Here is a selection of Villa supporters on Twitter reacting to Bacuna’s transfer to Cardiff:

Bacuna will now be hoping to help Neil Warnock’s side avoid relegation back to the Championship following their promotion last season – they are currently sitting in the drop zone.

Over the course of this season, Bacuna played 26 league matches for Reading, scoring three goals and supplying the same amount of assists – he has played in the middle of the park during this campaign, according to transfermarkt.

For Villa, Bacuna made 131 appearances in all competitions as the versatile player was part of the infamous side that got relegated from the Championship in 2016.
