Finally, there is some satisfying news on the long-awaited Zombieland sequel.
Zombieland was directed by Ruben Fleischer (Venom) and released back in 2009. The post-apocalyptic horror-comedy struck a chord with audiences thanks to its refreshing approach to the zombie sub-genre and the chemistry between the cast. Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg and Abigail Breslin worked so well together, and people wanted to see more of them right away.
Unfortunately, it has been a decade now since Zombieland was released, and strangely none of us houses a sequel in our collections. It's strange, as it's the sort of film we'd have expected them to rush a sequel for; yet, the cult of Zombieland has been gradual. Perhaps it's accurate to say that the film truly took off years after its initial release. Either way, a sequel has been demanded for a long time, and here's the news:
Taking part of the viral "10-year challenge, we see the cast striking the poses featured on the original film's poster. Since the film was made, the cast has showcased some phenomenal performances elsewhere, so it'll be all the more entertaining to see them reprise roles taking down the undead. The title Zombieland: Double Tap is sure to satisfy fans too. According to Empire, the film should be with us on October 11, 2019. Time to get prepared.
