Rangers were said to be pondering a move for the player, who has trained with Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox outfit.

A player who reportedly trialled with Rangers this month could be joining another club instead.

The Mail claimed earlier this month that Mile Todorov was training with Rangers as Steven Gerrard’s side ‘pondered a move’.

But NK Osijek have announced that Todorov will join their party travelling to Hungary this week, and has the option to stay in the Croatian side’s B team if he impresses on tour.

Osijek provided Rangers with two players, Borna Barisic and Eros Greza, in the summer transfer window.

And a move there may leave the door ajar for Rangers to pounce in future transfer windows.

Although as yet unverified, it has been claimed on Twitter that the Gers are involved in the deal that could potentially take Todorov to Osijek.

The 19-year-old, who currently plays for NK Novigrad, was part of the Macedonia Under-19s side that beat a strong-looking England side, containing Jadon Sancho and Phil Foden, in 2018.
