HITC Sport understands Oxford United are planning a move for former star Danny Hylton from Luton.
Oxford United are lining up a move to bring former hero Danny Hylton back to the club from League One rivals Luton Town, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Hylton is a big fans’ favourite at Oxford after scoring 30 goals for the Us during a two-year spell at the Kassam Stadium and helping them win promotion to League One.
The 29-year-old has played a key role in Luton’s recent success, finishing as top scorer for the past two seasons with 55 goals in a 109 appearances for the Hatters.
Hylton has struggled to hold down a place in Luton’s starting XI this season with the club riding high at the top of League One.
The skilful attacker has only started 10 of the club’s games in the league and he has not been in the squad for Luton’s last three games.
The news has alerted a number of clubs to his possible availability this month and Oxford are weighing up a move to bring him back to the club.
Hylton is out of contract at Kenilworth Road this summer and Luton could decide to cash-in on him before Thursday’s transfer deadline for the right price.
