Everton are yet to make a signing in the January transfer window.

French outlet WIW Sport have claimed that Everton are desperate to bring Stade Rennais speed machine Ismaila Sarr to Goodison Park before the end of the January transfer window.

Still only 20 years of age, fleet-footed Sarr has been linked with a whole host of Premier League clubs since bursting onto the scene with Rennes. He has continued his electric form this season.

The 20-time Senegal international has scored nine goals and created six more during his 28 league and cup outings this season, playing up front or on either side of the attack. He is regarded as one of the best, up-and-coming talents in France.

Back in December, Le Quotidien claimed that Crystal Palace were keen to sign Sarr, and had been quoted a fee of £26million to land the energetic winger. Now Everton could make their move before Thursday’s 11pm deadline.

The report claims Everton are very interested in Sarr, describing the Toffees’ interest as ‘more than ever’. The Merseyside outfit are said to have sent scouts to watch Sarr play against Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday night.

Sarr failed to make a difference and was taken off in the 78th minute, as Rennes suffered a 4-1 defeat to Thomas Tuchel’s side. But the interest remains, and a big offer from Everton could materialise this week.
