Peter Doherty and the Puta Madres release single, announce album due

Pete Doherty of The Libertines performs on stage on Day 1 of Victorious Festival at Southsea Seafront on August 24, 2018 in Portsmouth, England.

Peter Doherty’s new band, the Puta Madres, have released a new single and announced a forthcoming album.

Peter Doherty’s new band the Puta Madres have released a new Babyshambles-esque single, with a verse rhythm extremely reminiscent of David Bowie’s Ashes to Ashes, and announced that a new album is due in April this year. Listen to the single below.

Single Who’s Been Having You Over? has all the prerequisites of a Doherty release – low-fi production, sometimes intelligible vocals, decent melody – and the album took four days to record in France, so one can assume the album will continue with the single’s signifiers. The band are also touring the UK next month, starting in York and finishing up in Swansea.
