Rangers reportedly failed with a £3m bid to bring Cooper to the Scottish Premiership – now he’s Millwall’s FA Cup hero.

Jake Cooper was always going to have a major role to play if Millwall were to pull off an FA Cup giant-killing at home to Everton on Saturday. And that’s exactly how it transpired.
The man-mountain centre-back was arguably the best player on the pitch as The Toffees were bloodied and battered in the lions Den.
Cooper scored the equaliser, albeit with the help of his upper arm, and produced a trademark knockdown for Murray Wallace’s winner as the set-piece specialists nicked it at the depth.
He now has three goals and six assists this season.

So it should be no surprise that Cooper’s inspired performance got Rangers fans talking on social media. According to STV, the 23-year-old was The Gers’ top defensive target over the summer and Steven Gerrard was forced to turn to Joe Worrall and Gareth McAuley after seeing a £3 million bid rejected.
But with Rangers still looking a little shaky defensively in recent months, many Rangers fans would love to see their deal for Cooper revisited at the end of the season – or maybe this week.
