A new behind the scenes dive into Tim Miller’s Terminator sequel has arrived.

James Cameron‘s 1984 film The Terminator is generally considered a highlight of eighties action cinema, and its sequel – Terminator 2: Judgement Day – is regarded as one of the greatest of all time. The franchise was golden in the hands of Cameron and his team of special effects visionaries. The 1991 sequel, however, wouldn’t earn a sequel until 2003’s Terminator: Rise of the Machines. Jonathan Mostow’s (Surrogates) instalment was considered a disappointment, and the two subsequent efforts similarly failed to rekindle the spark of the two originals.

Now, Cameron is back on board with the franchise, serving as a producer on Tim Miller’s (Deadpool) continuation of Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Here’s a new promo:

It’s good to see the crew so enthusiastic about the project, and hopefully, this translated to the final film. Cameron hasn’t been involved since Terminator 2, so this sequel will ignore the last three films and serve as the third film in Cameron’s trilogy. This news is sure to please fans of the originals.

Series veterans Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton will be reprising their roles, and the project already has a large cast announced. The Terminator will be back on November 1, 2019. Expect more news to follow.
