Tottenham Hotspur are without three of their key attacking players against Chelsea.
Both players were notably absent from the Tottenham Under-23 side to face Athletic Bilbao this evening.
Tonight's Spurs U23s team here at Stevenage to face Athletic Bilbao. Vincent Janssen starts again. No Kazaiah Sterling or Troy Parrott. Sterling could be on the bench tomorrow again while Parrott was the 19th man at Fulham and looks to be again at Stamford Bridge. pic.twitter.com/B44ZvUfY6R— Alasdair Gold (@AlasdairGold) 23 January 2019
And given that Spurs are without Harry Kane, Heung-min Son and Dele Alli for the League Cup semi-final second-leg tie at Stamford Bridge, their omissions appear to be connected.
Sterling was on the bench for Tottenham's 2-1 win at Fulham on Sunday, with Parrott part of the travelling squad.
And Alli's sudden unavailability could see the latter promoted to Pochettino's 18.
Sterling has only played two minutes of senior football for Tottenham, making his one and only appearance against APOEL Nicosia in December 2017.
Parrott, however, has yet to even make the bench - although he is little more than three years younger than his teammate, who turned 20 last November.
Can Spurs hold off Chelsea to reach the final?
