Championship promotion hopefuls Nottingham Forest are reportedly looking at Bournemouth’s Premier League defender Tyrone Mings.

The cynics may argue that Nottingham Forest don’t need another defender with a history of injury problems. But, for the most part, it seems that fans are thrilled about the prospect of Tyrone Mings becoming Martin O’Neill’s second signing of the January transfer window.
The Mirror (23 January, page 49) reports that Nottingham Forest have joined Aston Villa, West Brom and bitter rivals Derby County in pursuit of the 25-year-old defender.
Mings is expected to leave Bournemouth on loan this month now that The Cherries have snapped up Brentford’s Chris Mepham, two-and-a-half years after he moved to the Vitality Stadium for £8 million (The Guardian)

And it seems that Forest fans have not forgotten just how impressive Mings was during 2015/16 at Ipswich Town. In the eyes of former Tractor Boys boss Mick McCarthy, he was the Championship’s best left-back that season, via SportsMole.
Now, the left-back position has caused plenty of headaches for the City Ground faithful in recent years but Mings could finally add some quality and athleticism at the back.
He can play at centre-back too. With Michael Dawson and Michael Hefele struggling with injuries, and with Danny Fox expected to leave, this versatility would be rather useful.
