Callum Hudson-Odoi wants to leave Chelsea with Bayern Munich offering £35million but could he really join Premier League leaders Liverpool?
Liverpool have entered the race to sign Chelsea’s want-away winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, according to shock claims made by Bild on Wednesday.
The future of the 18-year-old has been one of the biggest stories of the January transfer window and Sky reported this week that Hudson-Odoi has rejected Chelsea’s latest contract offer, believed to be worth £85,000 a week, as he looks to move away from Stamford Bridge.
Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have made no secret of their desire to sign the fleet-footed teenager, raising their bid to a massive £35 million recently.
But Bayern’s chase looks to have been hi-jacked by Liverpool, their upcoming Champions League round-of-16 opponents.
That is according to Bild anyway, who claim that the Merseyside giants met with Hudson-Odoi and his agent earlier this month.
This would not be the first time that Liverpool have raided Chelsea for an exciting young talent, having lured Dominic Solanke and Rhian Brewster to Anfield in recent years. Daniel Sturridge also ended up wearing red after a spell at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea have made it clear that they want to keep Hudson-Odoi in West London, however, and the prospects of them selling arguably their most exciting young talent since John Terry to a major Premier League rival look slim.
