The 24-year-old joined Tottenham from AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2016, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £17 million, but he has desperately failed to establish himself in north London, scoring just six goals for the club.
Janssen, who currently earns £34,000 per week according to Spotrac, does have potential - his goal record in Holland proves that, but it seems as though he is just not cut out for the frenetic pace and intensity of the Premier League.
Tottenham currently have Harry Kane out injured, and the Dutchman still hasn't got a look-in, so that really tells you all you need to know about his chances of a future in north London.
Some Tottenham fans took to Twitter today in reaction to reports linking the striker with a move to Burnley, and were fairly unanimous in their verdicts...
I’ll drive him there myself.— Benedict (@BenedictHotspur) 22 January 2019
Genuinely think he'd be excellent at Burnley. Not top 4 quality but would do well at a mid table club with a good run of games.— Luke Harvey (@thelukeharvey) 22 January 2019

I remember on of the last games he played for us when he finally scored from open play in the PL. The team was so happy for him. Was never given the chance to kick on.— Geri Saccomanno (@gericalo) 22 January 2019
