You could forgive Anthony Ralston for being annoyed if Celtic go and sign Fernando Fonseca.
According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic are lining up a £2 million bid for the Porto right-back.
And it would be so much harder for Ralston to make a name for himself at the Hoops if Brendan Rodgers brings in Fonseca.
Ralston has for a while seemed like the long-term replacement for the aging and declining Mikael Lustig at Parkhead.
But a deal for the Portuguese defender would be a very clear indication from Rodgers that he doesn't trust the 20-year-old completely just yet.
Plus, Fonseca is only 21. If he joins the Bhoys, for £2 million, then he would be Lustig's heir. It would be a different story if the one-time Juventus target was 30, but he isn't.
Ralston starred for Celtic in the 3-0 win over Airdrie this past weekend, in what was only his third start under Rodgers this season.
It seems like a long time ago that the youngster was marking Neymar in Champions League games, and if Fonseca joins then Ralston - who spent the second half of last season on loan at Dundee United - only moves further away from that sort of prominence.
