Several Championship clubs are planning moves for highly-rated Yeovil Town defender Tom James before the transfer window closes at the end of the month, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
James is regarded as one of the best young players in the Football League after impressing at Yeovil since his arrival from Cardiff in January 2017.
The 22-year-old came close to joining West Bromwich Albion last summer only for the move to fall through at the eleventh hour and James remained at Yeovil.
A number of Championship clubs have continued to keep tabs on James' progress this season and the versatile defender has continued to shine in a struggling Yeovil side.
The Wales Under-21 international has scored six goals in 27 appearances in all competitions to make himself Yeovil's second top scorer and the right-back is earning himself a reputation as a free-kick specialist.
James, who can play anywhere across the back four, has played in central defensive midfield in recent weeks and his versatility makes him an attractive proposition to his Championship suitors.
James is out of contract at Yeovil at the end of the season and the League Two club could be forced to cash-in on their prize asset before the close of the transfer window, with clubs ready to make bids for the defender.
