With the pressure mounting on Claude Puel, the last thing the Leicester City boss needed was for his side to collapse in the final seconds and lose 4-3 to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

Puel’s future has been cast into doubt once again after yet another disappointing defeat, the Foxes' fourth in their last five games including an FA Cup exit at League Two Newport County.

And, according to Telefoot, Leicester have now lined up Leonardo Jardim as the man to replace the former Southampton and Nice boss at the King Power Stadium.

Venezuelan tactician Jardim is one of the most highly-rated managers in Europe despite being sacked by Monaco in October.

After all, few have forgotten that remarkable 2016/17 season in which the 44-year-old led the Principality club to the Ligue 1 title and the Champions League semi-finals, inspired by the brilliance of a teenage Kylian Mbappe.

Telefoot adds that Jardim has turned down offers from China and the Middle East as the former Sporting Lisbon and Olympiakios boss wants to remain in Europe.

Leicester might have to move quick however with AC Milan identifying the South American as their top target should Gennaro Gattuso lose his job at San Siro.

Milan’s sporting director Leonardo is understood to be a big fan.
