Nottingham Forest defender Danny Fox is reportedly on the radar of Wigan Athletic.

Wigan Athletic expect to sign Danny Fox from Nottingham Forest this week, according to The Sunday People (print edition, page 49, January 20, 2019).

It has been reported that Fox fancies a move to Wigan, with the 32-year-old defender out of contract at Forest at the end of the season.

Strange move for Danny Fox?

Fox has been at Forest since 2014, but the defender has not been exactly great for the Reds in recent weeks.

The Scottish defender, though, has played quite regularly for Forest this season, featuring in as many as 18 Championship games for the Reds.

Wigan are in danger of getting relegated to League One at the end of the season, while Forest are still in the running for the Championship playoffs.

With his contract at Forest running out in the summer of 2019, maybe Fox should stay at the City Ground and see if the Reds offer him a new deal.

if Forest decide not to hand Fox a new contract, then the 32-year-old could just join another club in the Championship in the summer of 2019 as a free agent.

There will certainly be a few clubs in the second tier of English football interest in Fox in the summer of 2019.
