Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly pursuing Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Jonas Hofmann.

According to BILD, Tottenham Hotspur have made contact with Borussia Monchengladbach over a potential deal to sign midfielder Jonas Hofmann.
Spurs have suffered a major blow in attack with Harry Kane’s major injury, and fans are hoping to see a striker come in before the end of the transfer window.
However, a midfielder is also needed. Mousa Dembele has headed off to Guangzhou R&F, whilst an injury to Moussa Sissoko has also highlighted the major need for a midfielder.
A host of names have been linked with the club, including Borussia Monchengladbach ace Denis Zakaria, but one of his teammates now appears to be on the radar too.
BILD report that Spurs want to sign Gladbach ace Hofmann, and have even initiated contact with the Bundesliga club about a deal to sign him.
Hofmann, 26, had spent most of his career as a winger, but has been playing as a central midfielder this season, impressing with five goals and four assists in 13 Bundesliga appearances.

The German ace is quick, skilful and energetic, and his versatility would surely be important to boss Mauricio Pochettino all across midfield.
His ability to play out wide, centrally and as an attacking midfielder would be perfect for Tottenham’s setup under Pochettino, but a deal may not be straightforward.
Hofmann does have just 18 months left on his contract, but Gladbach don’t want to sell, and Spurs may need to come up with a great offer to secure a deal this month.
